Senior People Business Advisor

About the role

The Senior People Business Advisor provides professional people support to designated business units, partnering closely with People leadership to deliver employee and labor relations services. This role leads investigations, manages employee relations matters, and assists with union grievance handling while ensuring consistent application of policies and collective bargaining agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct workplace investigations, document findings, and recommend resolutions.
• Support managers on employee relations, disciplinary actions, performance issues, and conduct matters.
• Assist with union grievance investigations and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements.
• Participate in collective bargaining activities, including research, data gathering, material preparation, and implementation of negotiated changes.
• Analyze workforce and employee data to identify trends and provide data‑informed recommendations.
• Conduct employee exit interviews and communicate relevant insights to People leadership.
• Maintain accurate case files and respond to internal and external inquiries.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in employee and labor relations, preferably within a unionized environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, collective bargaining agreements, and HR policies.
• Proven ability to guide managers through complex employee‑relations issues.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with People leadership and business partners.
