Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Lead to join the Development & Construction team of Costaterra Golf & Ocean Club in Comporta, Portugal. The role will act as the developer’s representative for all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) matters across luxury residential and hospitality projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve MEP designs for quality, compliance, constructability and operational suitability.
• Coordinate MEP interfaces with architecture, structures, civil works, interiors, landscape and infrastructure.
• Support procurement activities, including tender reviews, technical evaluations and contractor selection.
• Monitor construction progress, quality and contractor performance.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing and hand‑over activities.
• Prepare reports on progress, risks, technical issues and key project decisions.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in design and delivery of complex building projects.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Experience in luxury residential, hospitality or mixed‑use developments is desirable.

Required skills

• HVAC systems design and implementation.
• Plumbing and fire‑protection engineering.
• Wet‑utility infrastructure.
• Medium, low and extra‑low voltage systems (telecommunications, CCTV, access control, AV).
• Design coordination, construction supervision and commissioning.
