Senior Mechanical Engineer – Mechanical Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) discipline for Costaterra Golf & Ocean Club’s development projects in Comporta, Portugal. The role acts as the developer’s representative, ensuring that all MEP solutions are high‑quality, compliant and ready for operation.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the developer on all MEP matters and review designs for quality, constructability and maintainability.
• Coordinate MEP interfaces with architecture, structure, civil works, interiors, landscape and infrastructure teams.
• Support procurement activities, including tender reviews, technical evaluations and contractor selection.
• Monitor construction progress, quality and contractor performance; review and approve submittals, shop drawings and method statements.
• Assist with cost control, value engineering, variation assessments and change management.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing and hand‑over activities.
• Prepare regular reports on progress, risks, technical issues and key decisions.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience designing and delivering complex building projects.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Experience in hospitality, luxury residential, mixed‑use, healthcare or commercial developments is desirable.
• Background in a developer, PMC, consultancy or contractor environment is advantageous.
