Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our high‑impact engineering team in Lisbon. The role involves leading the design of large‑scale mechanical systems for industrial, commercial and infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, quality and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of mechanical systems, producing calculations, schematics and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, Revit or SolidWorks.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide multidisciplinary coordination across project teams.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams via Autodesk Construction Cloud and engage directly with clients to capture requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO and local standards, and validate designs against client specifications.
• Participate in design reviews, audits, risk assessments and internal audits, making design decisions during execution phases.
• Escalate compliance, budget or timeline risks and support authorities in approving design documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory); Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering on industrial, commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in HVAC, piping, pumps, thermal systems and sustainable, energy‑efficient design.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, budgets and deadlines, and to mentor junior staff.
• Fluent English communication skills.
