Senior Manager, GBS Controller

About the role

The Senior Manager GBS Controller acts as the finance business partner for the Global Business Services (GBS) Cost Division, supporting planning, budgeting and performance tracking for GBS and adidas Porto. The role ensures compliance with corporate guidelines and provides timely, accurate financial analysis to drive fact‑based decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of budgets, quarterly forecasts and related commentary, challenging results against KPIs.
• Collaborate with GBS senior leadership and corporate controlling to align financial plans with group guidance.
• Collect and validate data from GBS and non‑GBS teams for planning processes, ensuring consistency with corporate targets.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs, delivering recommendations for corrective actions.
• Design and implement standard reporting packages and communication tools.
• Manage business case creation, governance and stakeholder alignment.
• Provide project and cost‑center support, ensuring alignment of key drivers such as FTE, PEX and L&P.
• Lead medium‑sized projects, implement findings and ensure sustainability.
• Deliver ad‑hoc analysis and insights to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration or Finance.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant finance or controlling experience, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with data from multiple sources.
• Excellent presentation and storytelling abilities for senior audiences.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Advanced user of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Proven experience with SAP FI.
