About the role
Thales in Portugal is looking for an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer to join its Defence and Aerospace team. You will work on high‑quality, secure Java applications that support critical systems across land, sea, air and space.
Key responsibilities
- Develop high‑quality, maintainable and secure Java applications using Java 21.
- Design scalable and efficient software architectures.
- Write, execute and maintain unit tests, troubleshoot and resolve bugs.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices.
Required profile
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Approximately 5 years of experience with Java and Spring Boot (mandatory).
- Solid experience in software development and engineering.
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment.
- Fluent written and oral English.
