Senior Java Developer

About the role

A global technology leader, present worldwide and recognised as a Top Employer, is hiring a Senior Java Developer for a project with a well-known FinTech service provider. The position is based in Lisbon, Portugal, on a hybrid working arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop enterprise applications with quality, within schedule and within estimated effort.
• Assist the Lead Engineer in low-level design.
• Provide estimates for assigned tasks and give accurate task status.
• Write and run unit and integration tests.
• Perform peer reviews and mentor junior team members.
• Take part in organisation-wide process improvement and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience building microservices and deploying them on a public cloud such as Google Cloud, AWS or Azure.
• Fluency in English; payment domain experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Core Java, Spring Boot and Spring (MVC, IOC, AOP, Security)
• SQL, RDBMS (Oracle and PostgreSQL), NoSQL (Cassandra preferred)
• Web services (JSON and SOAP), Kafka and Zookeeper
• JUnit, Maven/Ant/Gradle, Git, IntelliJ/Eclipse/MyEclipse
• Design patterns, Agile, security concepts and protocols
• Nice to have: Mockito, JBehave, Jenkins, Bamboo, Confluence
