Senior Embedded C++ Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for a senior software developer to design and implement embedded C++ components for safety‑critical solutions at Bosch’s Ovar site. You will work on real‑time, resource‑constrained applications that support our mission of guaranteeing safety and delivering enjoyable experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and integrate embedded software using modern C++.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to clarify system and software requirements.
• Implement complex real‑time applications and ensure they meet quality, security, scalability and maintainability standards.
• Create software designs with UML and modeling tools.
• Strengthen software quality through automated testing, code reviews and adherence to QA principles.

Required profile

• MSc or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
• More than 5 years of experience in embedded C++ development, preferably on real‑time or resource‑constrained systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and UML.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
• Structured, proactive and quality‑oriented working style.
• Hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset with curiosity and openness to feedback.

Required skills

• Modern C++ (C++11/14/17).
• Zephyr RTOS and Devicetree (strong plus).
• Communication protocols: CAN‑FD, MQTT, HTTPS.
• IoT security concepts.
• On‑chip debugging, oscilloscopes and hardware bring‑up.
• Containerised development environments.
• UML modelling and software design.
• Automated testing and code review processes.
