Senior Data Platform Engineer

About the role

Riskified is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to lead the design, implementation and operation of its high‑scale data platform that powers AI‑driven fraud detection and risk intelligence products. The role sits within the Data Platform team and works closely with R&D and Analytics groups to deliver self‑service tools and ensure platform reliability, performance and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build AI‑ready data platform foundations, including data quality frameworks, contracts, observability and self‑service tooling.
• Administer, provision and monitor core platform components such as streaming pipelines and storage systems.
• Develop and maintain application infrastructure tightly integrated with data platform tools.
• Guide development teams, mentor junior engineers and act as a knowledge hub for data platform best practices.
• Research, prototype and transition new technologies from proof‑of‑concept to production‑grade systems.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience as a Data Platform or Big Data Infrastructure engineer.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems for data ingestion, storage and access.
• Hands‑on experience with high‑scale, production‑grade projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
