About the role
The Junior Software Quality Assurance Engineer joins a cross‑functional Scrum team to help ensure the quality of Nokia’s optical networking solutions. You will support testing activities, follow established quality practices and collaborate in a multicultural Agile environment while building your technical skills.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the product R&D lifecycle with guidance from senior team members.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily scrums, reviews, retrospectives) and support requirement analysis and test‑case discussions.
- Design, develop and execute automated tests using Python and pytest, aligned with the team’s Definition of Done.
- Support the development and maintenance of test‑automation frameworks and test suites.
- Identify defects, analyse test results and report issues clearly.
- Learn and apply AI‑assisted testing techniques such as LLM‑supported test design and automated test generation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices and test processes.
Required profile
- Understanding of optical transmission fundamentals.
- Experience with Python and exposure to pytest or other test‑automation frameworks.
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with software testing concepts and test‑automation fundamentals.
- Interest or initial experience with AI/ML applications in software testing (nice to have).
- ISTQB certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Personal or academic projects related to testing or automation.
