Senior Accounts Receivable Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our Global Business Services team in Lisbon. The role will support the full accounts‑receivable cycle, ensure compliance with IFRS and internal controls, and contribute to the preparation of financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate incoming payments to invoices manually or via electronic tools.
• Create and maintain customer master data and contracts in SAP.
• Issue commercial delivery invoices, credit notes and advance payment invoices following legal, accounting and tax rules.
• Collect and verify external shipping documents and support the dunning process.
• Prepare debtor statements, reconciliation letters and monthly aging reports.
• Analyse bad‑debt, post provisions and write‑offs as required.
• Support audit activities and develop KPI reports.
• Identify and propose continuous‑improvement actions for the AR process and systems.

Required profile

• Fluent English.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Economics, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS and internal financial controls.
• Experience with SAP or similar accounting systems.
• Ability to work with customers across the US and Europe.
