SATCOM Instructor – NATO Training Academy

About the role

The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) is seeking a motivated SATCOM Instructor to join its Academy in Oeiras, Portugal. You will deliver high‑quality, certified training on NATO satellite communications systems to both technical specialists and non‑technical personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver instructional material for SATCOM courses.
• Conduct classroom and hands‑on training sessions, ensuring alignment with NATO standards.
• Maintain and operate modern SATCOM equipment for demonstration and testing purposes.
• Collaborate with the Academy team to continuously improve training technologies and curricula.
• Provide training operations support, including scheduling, assessment, and feedback collection.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a recognised university.
• Minimum of 2 years post‑degree experience in a relevant field.
• At least 5 years of recent experience delivering technical training to mixed audiences.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Practical experience in operation, testing and maintenance of modern Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems.
• In‑depth knowledge of SATCOM communication technology.
