Learning Design Specialist – Electromagnetic Operations (NATO)

About the role

The position supports a multinational defence organisation in translating a newly‑written electromagnetic operations training plan into concrete actions and deliverables. Working under the guidance of the coherence lead, you will ensure the training programme is designed, documented and rolled out effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Convert the new training plan into actionable development work.
• Draft the discipline baseline report and support the training requirements analysis.
• Plan and conduct training needs analyses to close identified gaps.
• Identify target audiences across headquarters, commands and training facilities.
• Facilitate early communication with neighbouring disciplines to avoid duplicated effort.
• Organise and lead the inaugural kick‑off meeting and requirements‑analysis workshop.
• Produce monthly situation reports and quarterly programme‑of‑work updates.

Required profile

• Current experience in electromagnetic operations, including development, delivery or management of related education and training.
• Higher vocational training in a relevant field with post‑related experience, or secondary education with additional qualifications.
• Proven ability to apply a structured, systems‑based approach to training design.
• Demonstrated track record of developing, delivering or evaluating training programmes.
• Competence in building training requirements, running needs analyses and writing performance objectives.
• Experience organising conferences, workshops and professional events.
• Fluent English with strong technical writing skills.
• Comfort with office automation tools, collaboration portals, workflow features, learning management systems and web‑conferencing platforms.
