Receptionist – Guest Services on Luxury Cruise Ship

About the role

The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for guests aboard an international 5‑star luxury cruise ship. You will deliver exceptional guest service, manage front‑desk operations and support the Guest Relations Manager in maintaining high standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide prompt and courteous service at the reception desk, handling guest enquiries, requests and complaints.
• Coordinate guest needs such as restaurant reservations, wake‑up calls, mail services, DVD/CD rentals and newspaper deliveries.
• Process financial transactions including cash payments, traveller’s checks, foreign currency exchange and credit‑card authorisations, and reconcile cash with the Financial Officer at the end of each cruise.
• Maintain accurate records of invitations, RSVPs and other front‑desk documentation.
• Communicate regularly with the Guest Relations Manager and other ship departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in guest‑facing or front‑desk roles within an international 5‑star or luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong moral integrity and the ability to remain calm, organized and decisive under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written English; additional fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, German or French is highly desirable.
• Self‑motivated, well‑organized and capable of handling multiple demands simultaneously.
