Python & Java Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer proficient in both Python and Java to maintain and evolve a mature production application. The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software while ensuring stability of existing services.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor, optimise and develop new features for a Python‑based and Java‑based backend application.
• Promote clean‑code practices, code reviews and adoption of modern development techniques.
• Design, implement and maintain RESTful APIs and event‑driven services.
• Participate in continuous integration and delivery pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab and SonarQube.
• Manage dependencies with Maven or Gradle and operate in Linux/Unix environments.
• Collaborate with other teams to identify improvement areas, provide technical guidance and translate stakeholder needs into actionable specifications.

Required profile

• Strong experience in backend development with Python and Java.
• Good understanding of service‑oriented architectures and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and Linux/Unix systems.
• Ability to work autonomously, organise daily tasks and communicate effectively in English.
