Python Developer – Risk Systems (Agile Squad)

About the role

BNP Paribas is looking for a Python Developer to join its Risk Systems team, part of the global Risk department. You will work in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) squad, collaborating with colleagues across multiple countries to design, build and maintain high‑performance risk‑capital‑markets applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Python code.
• Rapidly prototype solutions to validate new concepts.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, propose and implement fixes.
• Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Incrementally deliver features to meet evolving customer requirements.
• Resolve production incidents and support the application lifecycle.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to unblock issues and drive solutions.

Required profile

• Academic degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
• Proven experience with Python programming.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented and functional programming paradigms.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with unit, integration and end‑to‑end testing.
• Understanding of design principles for scalable applications.
