Project Manager – Telecommunications

About the role

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Project Manager to lead telecommunications projects for its GTS division in Paço de Arcos, Portugal. The role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle, from initiation through delivery and closure, ensuring technical excellence and timely invoicing.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and launch projects, conducting baseline reviews.
• Plan, execute, monitor and control project activities across design, development, integration, verification and validation phases.
• Manage delivery of project deliverables and associated invoicing.
• Capture lessons learned and ensure proper project documentation.
• Lead project closure activities, including testing, commissioning and acceptance.

Required profile

• Electrotechnical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience in similar project management roles within telecommunications.
• Member of the Portuguese Engineering Association (Ordem dos Engenheiros).
• Strong understanding of the complete project lifecycle.
• Proficient English communication; French is a plus.
• IPMA Level C certification or higher is preferred.
