Quality Assurance Engineer – Optical Networks

About the role

Help shape the future of optical connectivity as a Quality Assurance Engineer in our Optical Networks R&D organization. You will join a multicultural, cross‑functional Scrum team building advanced networking solutions for the AI‑driven data‑center era, with quality embedded from requirements through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Champion quality throughout the full product R&D lifecycle and actively participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily scrums, reviews and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners and system architects to refine requirements, define acceptance criteria, identify risks early and improve testability.
• Design, develop and execute automated tests using Python and pytest, integrated into CI/CD pipelines and aligned with the team’s Definition of Done.
• Apply AI‑assisted testing techniques such as test generation, synthetic test data, failure‑pattern analysis and coverage optimisation.
• Continuously improve test strategies, automation frameworks and Agile QA practices.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Physics or a related technical field.
• Solid understanding of optical transmission fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python‑based test automation and CI/CD integration.
• Knowledge or hands‑on experience with AI/ML applications in software testing.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving, ownership and communication skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; ISTQB certification is a plus.
