Piping Design Engineer – Data Centre Liquid Cooling

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Piping Design Engineer to join our global engineering team. The role focuses on designing integrated piping systems for data centre liquid‑cooling applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting innovative, cloud‑based solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D piping models, PDFs, and layout drawings for data centre projects.
• Perform pipe stress analysis to verify system integrity under various operating conditions.
• Specify appropriate materials, components, and fittings based on project requirements.
• Collaborate with commercial, technical, project management, manufacturing and other internal teams to create conceptual designs and present them to customers.
• Prepare and review piping specifications, bills of materials (BOM) and technical reports.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning and troubleshooting phases.
• Contribute to cost estimation and ensure designs stay within budget and schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in piping design and engineering, preferably in critical environments such as data centres, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals or semiconductor facilities.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and deliver innovative design solutions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D modelling and piping design software (SolidWorks, Onshape, PDMS, SP3D, CADWorx, Plant3D, Revit, AutoCAD).
• Experience with pipe stress analysis tools (CAESAR II or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of piping instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and ability to read, interpret and modify them.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, EN).
• Understanding of modular, prefabricated piping systems is advantageous.
