Mobile Engineer (iOS) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Mobile Engineer (iOS) to join our partner’s remote‑first team in Portugal. You will own the iOS application from concept to production, building AI‑enhanced features that enable users to accomplish real‑world tasks with ease.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑quality iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Integrate AI‑powered capabilities through backend APIs, handling streaming responses, loading states, retries and error handling.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency across a wide range of iOS devices.
• Capture user behavior and feedback to support continuous AI model improvement.
• Collaborate with backend, machine‑learning and product teams to define APIs and deliver production‑ready features.
• Maintain application stability, code quality, monitoring and App Store readiness.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis and enhance reliability.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional iOS development experience using Swift.
• Strong hands‑on experience with SwiftUI, async/await, concurrency and background task management.
• Proven track record of shipping and maintaining production‑grade iOS apps.
• Experience integrating AI or intelligent backend services into mobile applications.
• Solid understanding of iOS performance optimisation, memory management and battery efficiency.
• Familiarity with mobile architectures, RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases and modern development workflows.
• Exposure to on‑device ML frameworks (CoreML, TensorFlow Lite) and feature‑flag/remote‑config systems is a plus.
