Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in Porto. You will contribute to the design and development of innovative devices and components, supporting the company’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design sub‑assemblies that meet broad design goals and establish detailed requirements and specifications.
• Perform empirical, numerical, and experimental analyses to validate designs.
• Develop test methods and models, and identify and mitigate sub‑assembly risks.
• Support invention disclosures and collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to obtain prototype parts.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements, including ISO standards and Abbott guidelines.
• Manage projects within quality management system (QMS) constraints and support divisional initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design and testing of relevant devices.
• Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes is preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Experience coordinating prototype development with vendors.
