Mathematics Specialist – AI Evaluation (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Mathematics Specialist to work remotely on a contract basis, reviewing and improving AI‑generated mathematical content. You will ensure the accuracy, clarity, and rigor of solutions across a wide range of mathematical domains.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated proofs, calculations, and quantitative reasoning for correctness and clarity.
• Evaluate step‑by‑step mathematical reasoning, identifying errors in methodology or assumptions.
• Generate high‑quality explanations, model solutions, and structured reasoning workflows.
• Analyze AI responses in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, probability, optimization, modeling, and discrete mathematics.
• Fact‑check mathematical claims, formulas, and derivations across multiple domains.
• Compare and rank multiple AI‑generated responses based on rigor and explanatory quality.
• Produce expert‑level content that communicates advanced concepts clearly.
• Support AI model improvement through annotation, evaluation, and documentation tasks.
• Contribute to prompt design and benchmark solutions to enhance AI mathematical reasoning.

Required profile

• MS or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field from a top‑100 university.
• Strong expertise in pure and applied mathematics, proofs, modeling, statistics/probability, and optimization.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with systematic evaluation of complex logic.
• Ability to communicate advanced mathematical concepts clearly in written English (minimum C1 proficiency).
• Background in research, analytical writing, programming, debate, or advanced problem‑solving preferred.
• Experience developing or critically reviewing advanced mathematical materials (for PhD holders).
• Prior work with AI data training, RLHF, model evaluation, or annotation workflows is a strong plus.
