Management Accountant - Portugal

About the role

Sovereign Group is looking for a Management Accountant for Portugal, covering an office that is important to the Group's profitability, its 3-year plan and generates revenue in excess of £1m. You will help set local targets, budgets and forecasts and support the local board in creating and maintaining financial plans, with a strong commercial focus and comfort communicating with external parties.

Key responsibilities

• Produce management accounts and financial statements on time
• Carry out quarterly forecasting and build the annual 3-year plan
• Contribute to the company's financial strategy and decision-making, ensuring alignment
• Deliver market, operational and pricing analysis (internal and external) and proposals to challenge current ways of working
• Manage the audit process and liaise with external personnel
• Ensure robust financial systems and processes are in place
• Recommend improvements to existing financial models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow)

Required profile

• Professionally qualified accountant (CPA/CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CC preferred) or qualified by experience
• Excellent communicator with internal and external colleagues at all levels
• Hard-working, efficient, resilient and motivated by results
• Comfortable challenging where appropriate and delivering management information proactively, articulated locally and at Group level
