Maintenance Technician

About the role

Forvia is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join its industrial maintenance team on a 3rd‑shift schedule. The role focuses on troubleshooting, programming, and improving PLC and HMI systems while ensuring equipment reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and modify PLC programs to resolve breakdowns or implement process improvements.
• Update and modify HMI consoles and manage backups of PLC, robot, and peripheral equipment programs.
• Maintain hierarchical access levels to equipment, proposing solutions that guarantee product quality and safety.
• Support the maintenance team in troubleshooting power and control systems and participate in equipment installation and commissioning.
• Conduct ABC analysis of costs and downtime, suggesting optimisation measures.
• Promote knowledge sharing on new technologies and industrial automation devices.
• Perform all tasks in full compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanics, Automation or a related field.
• Proven experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in automotive or metalworking environments.
• Ability to work the 3rd shift.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical skills and a proactive attitude.
• Team spirit and commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• PLC programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley or similar).
• HMI console configuration and maintenance.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with robotics systems and industrial automation technologies.
