Maintenance Team Leader – Night Shift

About the role

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a dynamic Maintenance Team Leader for its new production plant in Viana, Portugal. The role operates on the night shift and is responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all production equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team, assign tasks and set maintenance objectives.
• Lead, motivate and develop team members, providing safety and preventive‑maintenance training.
• Monitor work performed by the team and external service providers.
• Facilitate clear communication within the department and with other functions.
• Conduct daily shift meetings focused on maintenance interventions and KPI tracking.
• Provide technical assistance on mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, programming and robotics equipment.
• Assist with validation, installation and start‑up of new equipment.
• Diagnose defects, implement corrective actions and participate in problem‑solving activities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, quality and productivity standards.

Required profile

• Academic background in mechanics, electromechanics, electronics, electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, automation, programming, robotics or a related field.
• Proven experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role within an industrial setting.
