Lead Architect – Digital Assets

About the role

Euronext is building a new Digital Assets team to create tokenisation and distributed‑ledger technology (DLT) capabilities for financial institutions and retail clients. As Lead Architect you will define and deliver the core platform that underpins Europe’s first tokenised offerings, shaping the future of capital markets.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end architecture for tokenised issuance, trading and settlement platforms, integrating DLT with traditional market infrastructure.
• Design cross‑chain topologies, using permissioned chains (e.g., Hyperledger Besu, Canton) for institutional flows and public chains (Ethereum/L2) for DeFi distribution.
• Define on‑chain compliance models, including regulated security‑token standards (ERC‑3643/T‑REX), KYC‑whitelisted wallets, AML screening (Chainalysis/Elliptic) and MiFIR reporting.
• Architect custody and key‑management solutions based on MPC technologies (Fireblocks, Taurus) and support hybrid bring‑your‑own‑custody models.
• Set coding, review, testing and secure‑by‑design standards; lead threat‑modelling and security architecture until a dedicated security lead is hired.
• Collaborate with product, legal, regulatory, clearing, CSD and client teams to ensure alignment with the DLT Pilot Regime, MiFID II and MiCA.
• Stay hands‑on during incidents and guide the transition of products from build to run.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering large‑scale DLT or blockchain solutions for financial markets.
• Strong understanding of market infrastructure components such as trading, clearing, settlement, custody and central securities depositories.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architecture decisions, set technical standards and work cross‑functionally in a regulated environment.
