Land Surveyor Crew Chief – Travel Position (Puerto Rico Residents Welcome)

About the role

Bateman Civil Survey Company (USVI Division) is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor Crew Chief to lead survey teams in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Candidates residing in Puerto Rico are encouraged to apply, and the role involves extensive field work, training, and coordination of technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Train, mentor, and evaluate survey technicians to ensure high performance.
• Coordinate daily field activities, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Oversee construction staking, boundary, and topographic surveys.
• Maintain accurate survey data using advanced equipment and technology.
• Communicate progress and issues effectively with project managers.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years of surveying experience with some leadership or supervisory duties.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Experience in construction staking, boundary, and topographic surveys.
• Valid driver’s license with at least five years of clean driving experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Trimble surveying software and equipment.
• Ability to operate surveying equipment effectively.
