Lab Technician

About the role

The Laboratory Technician supports the Technical Service Hot Melt team in Portugal by performing product development tests, raw material evaluations, and application trials. The role ensures accurate documentation, equipment calibration, and provides technical assistance to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage laboratory samples for testing and development.
• Conduct tests and trials on new products, improvements, and raw materials, recording results accurately.
• Supply samples for customer testing and analyze competitor products when required.
• Calibrate and verify laboratory equipment, maintaining proper documentation.
• Perform additional analyses such as physical/chemical characterization and product stability studies.
• Provide technical support to Technical Service, Quality, and Production teams.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment.
• Manage laboratory supplies, documentation, sample archiving, and equipment maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma in a scientific field (or equivalent experience of at least two years).
• Technical‑professional training in laboratory functions.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work without continuous supervision.

Required skills

• Knowledge of adhesive laboratory testing procedures.
• Experience with laboratory equipment calibration and verification.
• Proficiency in MS Word.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
