Junior AI & Data Engineer – Smart Cloud Factory

About the role

Join the Smart Cloud Factory team in Lisbon and help transform traditional manufacturing into a fully connected, intelligent, and sustainable environment. As a Junior AI & Data Engineer you will support the development of data pipelines, AI model preparation, and cloud‑native solutions that enable predictive maintenance and real‑time quality control.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and building data processing pipelines that connect IT and OT systems.
• Develop Python scripts for data manipulation, transformation, and AI model training.
• Support the management and optimisation of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Help create and maintain containerised applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data requirements and propose engineering solutions.
• Participate in data validation, cleansing, and quality‑assurance activities.
• Contribute to CI/CD implementation to automate software delivery.
• Work within agile sprints, attend planning meetings and code reviews.

Required profile

• Junior‑level candidate with a strong interest in AI, data engineering and cloud technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Eagerness to learn emerging technologies and best practices in AI, DevOps and cloud computing.
