Junior Accounts Receivable Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our Global Business Services team in Portugal. The role is available in either Coimbra or Lisbon and offers the opportunity to develop core finance skills while supporting the full accounts receivable cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate incoming payments to invoices manually or via electronic tools.
• Register customer contracts in SAP, creating and modifying data as needed.
• Issue commercial delivery invoices, credit notes and advance payment invoices in compliance with legal, accounting and tax regulations.
• Send invoices to customers through post, email or electronic transmission.
• Collect and verify external documentation such as Airway Bills, Bills of Lading and customer certificates.
• Prepare debtor statements, reconciliation letters and support the dunning process.
• Analyze bad debt, post provisions and perform write‑off postings.
• Produce ageing reports, balance‑sheet analysis of receivables and advanced payments.
• Support audit processes and contribute to KPI elaboration.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Economics, or equivalent experience in accounting administrative tasks.
• Understanding of IFRS and accounting standards.
• Ability to work with customers from different regions (US/Europe) and translate their needs into concrete actions.
• Strong analytical mindset and capacity to propose continuous‑improvement actions.
