Investment Trainee

About the role

We are looking for an Investment Trainee to join our Investment/Portfolio Management team at Sonae Sierra’s central office in Lisbon. This position is ideal for a recent bachelor’s graduate who wants to gain hands‑on experience in investment analysis and portfolio management within an international real‑estate environment before pursuing a master’s degree.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor portfolio performance and ensure delivery of business plans and target returns.
• Serve as the primary contact for investors, supporting reporting and communication.
• Collaborate with asset management and internal teams to execute portfolio strategy.
• Review and challenge business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
• Conduct financial analysis, modelling, valuations, and feasibility assessments.
• Prepare presentation materials, memorandums and reports for stakeholders.
• Track portfolio KPIs, identify risks and propose corrective actions.
• Work cross‑functionally with finance, legal, asset management and back‑office teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Management or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
