Human Resources Director

About the role

We are looking for a business‑minded Human Resources Director to join the executive team of a fast‑growing fintech lender in San Juan. The role will professionalize the human capital function and support aggressive growth across the island.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead a full human capital strategy aligned with rapid growth goals.
• Build and strengthen organizational culture, employer reputation, and talent brand.
• Lead a recruiting team of 4‑6 recruiters and 2 HR/benefits generalists, focusing on sales and operations hiring.
• Raise hiring standards to attract higher‑quality talent.
• Manage payroll and benefits through ADP, administer insurance, policies, and training programs.
• Design general training and leadership development initiatives.
• Handle employee relations with diplomacy, leveraging an external labor attorney as needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and labor regulations.
• Serve as a strategic partner to the COO and executive team.

Required profile

• High technological fluency and comfort in a fintech/AI environment.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proven ability to build and lead high‑performing teams.
• Diplomatic, collaborative, and firm leadership style with no drama.
• Business mindset that views HR as a growth driver.
• Senior HR leadership experience (mandatory).
• No prior financial services experience required.
