Head of Research & Editorial

About the role

Platform Engineering is seeking a senior leader to head its Weave Intelligence research arm and set the editorial agenda for the platform engineering community. You will be the public face of the company’s thought leadership, publishing under your own byline and representing the brand at major industry events.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overarching thesis on platform engineering, internal developer platforms, and the agentic enterprise.
• Develop a quarterly theme calendar that aligns reports, articles, webinars, courses, and videos.
• Lead the analyst practice: set research agenda, methodology standards, and own flagship reports such as the State of Platform Engineering.
• Manage the existing content team (content operations lead, narratives & quality lead, video producer) and steer the production engine toward high‑impact topics.
• Publish original research, brief vendors, and serve on analyst desks at conferences like PlatformCon, KubeCon, re:Invent, and Google Cloud Next.
• Maintain editorial independence while handling sponsor relationships and distribution agreements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior analyst, researcher, or editorial leader in a technology‑focused organization.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality research reports, guides, and multimedia content.
• Strong public speaking skills and comfort representing the organization at global conferences.
• Track record of building and executing a strategic editorial calendar.
