Global Category Manager – Purchasing

About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Global Category Manager to lead the strategy, sourcing and commercial activities for our portfolio of categories. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure a balanced, risk‑aware portfolio that supports OESL’s automotive business.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain a portfolio strategy aligned with OESL needs, creating a balanced mix to minimise risk and increase market leverage.
• Develop, deliver and continuously update the sourcing list; collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing Department (SSD) on supplier gaps, priorities and criteria.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive their execution.
• Lead negotiations within the defined scope, secure and maintain contracts, and support Advanced Purchasing on complex deals.
• Act as the primary OESL interface with suppliers, sharing market insights and forecasting price trends.
• Report category performance regularly to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional experience).
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience, including at least 1 year in the automotive sector.
• Project‑management experience is a plus.
• Exposure to international business environments.
