German-Speaking Shop Manager (M/F)

About the role

Mystic Ocean, a new ocean cruise company based in Portugal offering cruises to the Mediterranean, Baltic and North Seas, is looking for a German-speaking shop manager (M/F) for its ship. The role combines active customer advice on brand-name textiles, perfumes, cosmetics and accessories with managing the shop's sales, visual presentation, stock and team.

Key responsibilities

• Sell and advise customers throughout the shop, with a friendly attitude and a focus on closing sales
• Plan, coordinate and implement sales activities with on-board areas and head office
• Develop measures to maximise sales with head office in Hamburg
• Manage and motivate the shop assistant team and ensure high-quality service
• Update merchandise presentation and decide on window displays, interior decor and stock levels
• Keep the store clean, manage cash and reporting, and handle back-office requests promptly
• Keep sales, returns and staff purchase statistics, ensure accurate stocktaking and increase guest satisfaction
• Comply with safety regulations and take part in safety drills

Required profile

• Completed professional training in the service/trade sector and/or several years of sales and management experience (textiles, perfumery, watches and/or jewellery preferred)
• Excellent German and a sound knowledge of English
• At least 21 years old, positive, disciplined, motivated and flexible
• Service, customer and target oriented, team player
