Front End Developer – React, Node.js & Next.js

About the role

Capgemini is looking for a Front End Developer with strong expertise in React, Node.js and Next.js to join its Lisbon team on a hybrid basis. You will help leading organisations unlock technology value while contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive digital future.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, high‑performance web applications using React and Next.js.
• Design modern frontend architectures, including micro‑frontend and multi‑frontend solutions.
• Optimize performance through Server‑Side Rendering (SSR), Client‑Side Rendering (CSR), Static Site Generation (SSG) and Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR).
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, backend developers and business stakeholders to deliver seamless digital experiences.
• Ensure compliance with web performance, accessibility, SEO and frontend best‑practice standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a front‑end developer.
• Hands‑on expertise with React, Next.js and Node.js in modern web applications.
• Deep understanding of SSR, CSR, SSG and ISR concepts.
• Proven experience with micro‑frontend or multi‑frontend architectures.
• Familiarity with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful (nice to have).
• Strong knowledge of web performance optimisation, accessibility standards and SEO best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Available to work on‑site in Lisbon under a hybrid model.
