Finance Team Leader – Compliance & Risk Management (English & French)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Team Leader to head our Compliance & Risk Management team in Lisbon. The role combines people‑management with deep knowledge of compliance, risk and financial services, ensuring high standards of quality and regulatory adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of compliance and risk professionals.
• Monitor team performance, productivity and quality, and prepare KPI reports.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Identify operational and compliance risks and coordinate mitigation actions.
• Provide coaching, feedback and performance support to team members.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and senior management on risk‑related initiatives.
• Handle escalations and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in team management, compliance, risk, banking or finance.
• Proven people‑management or team‑leadership experience.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Strong understanding of compliance and risk‑management principles.
• Excellent communication, leadership and analytical abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, international environment.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Lisbon.
