English‑Speaking Accountant (France & Portugal)

About the role

We are looking for an English‑speaking accountant to lead the full‑cycle accounting function for our French entities while supporting the Portuguese operations. The role combines day‑to‑day transaction processing with statutory reporting, tax compliance and financial analysis in a fast‑paced, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain all financial transactions, including AP, AR and general ledger entries.
• Prepare, reconcile and present profit & loss, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements and drive month‑end and year‑end close.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP and local statutory reporting requirements.
• Process invoices, payments and employee expense reports; monitor collections and reconcile vendor/customer accounts.
• Prepare VAT, corporate and payroll tax filings and coordinate with local advisors.
• Assist in annual budgeting, financial forecasting and variance analysis.
• Support process improvement initiatives and automate reporting and reconciliation workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of end‑to‑end accounting experience, preferably in CRO, pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors.
• Strong knowledge of statutory reporting, tax compliance and month‑end close processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across French and Portuguese teams.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
