Design Director – Hospitality Interiors

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Design Director to lead our Porto studio for a renowned international hospitality interior design practice. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on design work, shaping high‑end hotel environments that reflect brand identity and guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the creative vision across international hospitality projects.
• Stay actively involved from concept through design development to key delivery stages.
• Produce concepts, moodboards, presentations, material palettes, spatial ideas and detailed design development.
• Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary interior design teams.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, hotel operators, architects and consultants.
• Present design strategies to senior stakeholders and ensure the highest creative standards.
• Oversee design intent across materials, FF&E, detailing and documentation.
• Support studio growth, new business pitches and act as a senior creative ambassador.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in a leading interior design or architecture practice.
• Strong portfolio of luxury or high‑end hospitality projects.
• Significant international project exposure.
• Distinctive, sophisticated design sensibility and a hands‑on approach.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage client relationships and contribute directly to design work.
