Data Scientist – Manufacturing AI/ML

About the role

As a Data Scientist you will turn complex engineering and production challenges into data‑driven solutions that deliver measurable business value. Working at the intersection of AI, Machine Learning and Industrial Analytics, you will analyse manufacturing data to uncover patterns, identify root causes and drive process improvements across Bosch's automotive electronics division.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse manufacturing data to detect anomalies, predict failures and improve product quality.
• Develop, validate and deploy AI/ML models for quality improvement, process optimisation, predictive maintenance and productivity gains.
• Collaborate with process experts, engineers, data analysts, MLOps and IT teams to ensure solutions are scalable, explainable and aligned with operational needs.
• Contribute throughout the solution lifecycle – from problem definition and data exploration to model deployment and continuous improvement.
• Standardise and reuse analytical methods, models and best practices across projects and locations.

Required profile

• MSc or PhD in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience developing end‑to‑end ML/AI solutions and working with complex industrial datasets.
• Hands‑on experience in data preparation, model development, validation and deployment in manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality improvement or equipment analytics is a plus.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• SQL.
• Pandas, NumPy, Scikit‑learn, SciPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly.
• PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Git and collaborative software development practices.
• MLOps concepts (model versioning, CI/CD, monitoring).
• Experience with cloud AI platforms such as Databricks.
• Knowledge of APIs, containers and deployment technologies.
