Data Engineer

About the role

Farfetch is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering team in Porto. You will help design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models that support the company’s luxury e‑commerce platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, reliable ETL pipelines for the data platform.
• Evolve data models and schema design of the Data Warehouse to enable self‑service analytics.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions handling large data volumes.
• Define and maintain coding standards and development best practices.
• Champion data quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience building and maintaining data pipelines using ETL tools such as SSIS, Talend, Airflow or Composer.
• Experience working in a Data Warehouse environment with relational databases, Hadoop, column‑store solutions or BigQuery.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (GCP or Azure) and strong SQL skills.
• Proficiency in Java or Python programming.
• Experience with BI reporting tools like Tableau, PowerBI or Looker.
• Familiarity with continuous delivery practices, version control and automated testing.
• Fluent English communication, both written and spoken.
