Data Engineer – Build Data Highways

About the role

GRiT® is looking for a motivated Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines that power our data‑driven applications. You will work in a collaborative environment where innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning are core values.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and optimise ETL processes for large‑scale data sets.
• Design and implement data models and pipelines using cloud services.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deliver reliable data solutions.
• Maintain and improve existing data infrastructure, ensuring performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and adopt best practices for data engineering.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience building data‑driven applications and ETL environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Strong organisational, autonomous and proactive work style.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Python, Java or Scala.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Big‑data tools: Apache Spark, Hive, Databricks.
