Data Analyst

About the role

Join Cisco ThousandEyes, a leading Digital Assurance platform, as a Data Analyst focused on delivering statistical insights for government customers. You will apply advanced analytical techniques to monitor internet performance, support cross‑functional projects, and help shape data‑driven decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Produce statistical reports on internet performance for government clients.
• Lead cross‑functional analytical projects, coordinating stakeholders and developing joint methodologies.
• Collaborate with internal Data Scientists and external partners to design performance reporting for ISPs across geographies.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and dashboards to track trends in customer data.
• Identify opportunities and patterns in the data that are relevant to government customers.
• Create clear visual narratives using advanced data‑wrangling and visualization techniques.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in R for production reporting pipelines (tidyverse, renv, multi‑file navigation, debugging).
• Proficiency in SQL for querying BigQuery and MariaDB (bigquery, DBI, RMariaDB).
• Experience with literate programming and reporting tools (R Markdown, Quarto, ggplot2, flextable, officedown).
• Solid statistical judgment, including confidence intervals, weighted and trimmed means, and sample‑size considerations.
• Excellent report writing for regulatory audiences with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to manage data across BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, SharePoint/OneDrive, and local R sessions.
• Comfort using AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Copilot) to enhance productivity.
