Customer Onboarding Manager I (Lisbon/Madrid/Berlin)

About the role

As a Customer Onboarding Manager at Pleo you will guide new European customers through the entire onboarding journey, ensuring a smooth and memorable experience from sign‑up to full adoption of the platform. You act as the bridge between technology and human connection, configuring solutions to match each client’s unique needs and driving successful product usage.

Key responsibilities

• Identify customer objectives, priorities, policies and rollout plans, aligning on timelines, scope and integration requirements.
• Configure Pleo for users – activation, limits, cards, integrations and compliance settings.
• Integrate Pleo with the customer’s accounting system, export expenses and support testing.
• Provide consulting, share best practices, conduct training and drive user adoption.
• Assist in preparing data, communications, policies and guides; deliver ‘hyper‑care’ and final review calls before hand‑over to the Customer Success Manager.
• Maintain strong relationships, gather feedback, track CES scores and capture testimonials.
• Share knowledge internally, collaborate on training, process‑improvement projects and track efforts for revenue recognition.
• Provide feedback to product, development and marketing teams, and ensure onboarding timelines and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of customer‑facing experience, ideally in onboarding or customer success.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial workflows (desirable).
• Genuine curiosity for understanding customer needs and strong commitment to satisfaction.
• Excellent planning, prioritisation and risk‑management abilities for multiple simultaneous projects.
• Effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams and ability to translate problems for analysts, designers or engineers.
• Fluency in English and German.
