Communications Specialist – Temporary Maternity Cover

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Communications Specialist to cover a temporary maternity leave within the External Affairs & Market Access function. The role will support affiliate communications, stakeholder engagement, and reputation‑building activities, working closely with brand teams and cross‑functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute affiliate and brand communication plans in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Coordinate internal and external communication activities that reinforce AbbVie’s reputation and affiliate objectives.
• Produce and distribute internal communication materials such as announcements, leadership messages, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Partner with Human Resources and other functions to manage organizational announcements and change‑management communications.
• Monitor media landscape and stakeholder activity, providing insights to the External Affairs & Market Access team.
• Draft press releases, Q&As, presentations, talking points, and briefing materials.
• Support media‑relations activities, including media monitoring and coordination with journalists and agencies.
• Help maintain relationships with key stakeholders, communications agencies, and external partners.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity and compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively across brand, market access, and corporate functions.
• Experience in coordinating internal and external communications in a regulated industry.
• Proactive attitude with strong organizational and project‑management capabilities.
