Communications Specialist – People Engagement

About the role

The People Engagement Business Partner role drives internal communications that inform, inspire and connect employees across Spain and Portugal. You will design and execute innovative communication strategies aligned with global and regional business goals, ensuring a strong sense of belonging among our workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the MU PE Business Partner Lead for Spain & Portugal to shape communication strategy and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Implement and run communication programs that support global, EMEA and market‑unit business objectives.
• Act as the primary business partner for People Engagement communications, working closely with Marketing, Communications and senior leaders.
• Create and deliver compelling content across channels such as email newsletters, Viva Engage and virtual town‑halls.
• Track all communications in the central PE calendar, identify synergies, and reduce duplicate effort.
• Measure performance metrics, share insights and continuously refine tactics.
• Support crisis and issue‑management communications in partnership with corporate communications, legal and employee relations.
• Coordinate with Accenture Creative and external agencies to ensure cost‑effective delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in internal communications within a global, matrixed environment.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
• Proven stakeholder‑management skills and ability to engage senior leaders.
• Strong project‑management capabilities handling multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Required skills

• Experience with AI‑enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Writer.
• Proficiency in using Viva Engage as a targeted communication channel.
• Knowledge of global digital platforms, content strategy and publishing processes.
