Commis – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis to join The Social Hub’s kitchen team. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on training under senior chefs, allowing you to develop core culinary skills in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, mise‑en‑place and kitchen set‑up across all sections.
• Follow recipes and plating instructions to ensure consistency and quality.
• Support senior chefs during service, keeping the line fast, clean and efficient.
• Maintain hygiene standards, clean workstations and follow health‑and‑safety protocols.
• Store, label and rotate ingredients, helping manage stock levels.

Required profile

• Some experience in a professional kitchen or recent completion of culinary school.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
• Open to feedback and eager to learn and improve.
• Team‑first attitude with respectful communication.
• Fluency in Portuguese; English is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of kitchen tools and cooking techniques.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately.
