Cluster Director of Finance

About the role

The Cluster Director of Finance will provide strategic and operational financial leadership for Sheraton Cascais Resort and YOTEL Porto. Reporting to the General Manager and owners, you will safeguard assets, ensure compliance and drive profitability across both properties.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the financial strategy aligned with business objectives and brand standards.
• Act as the principal financial advisor to the General Manager and owners, delivering performance insights, risk assessments and investment analysis.
• Oversee accurate, timely financial reporting, monthly closings, forecasts, budgets and long‑term plans.
• Monitor key financial indicators (GOP, cash flow, margins, payroll ratio, productivity) and initiate corrective actions.
• Maintain accounting integrity across GL, AP, AR, income audit, cost control and cashiering functions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation, labour‑related obligations and brand requirements.
• Lead internal and external audits and enforce robust internal controls.
• Develop and evaluate the finance team, ensuring segregation of duties and succession planning.
• Partner with operational departments to optimise costs, pricing decisions and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 5‑10 years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably within the hospitality sector.
• Proficiency with accounting management software, SAP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proactive, dynamic, high sense of responsibility and strong team spirit.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese.
