Certified Accountant – Renewable Energy Sector

About the role

We are looking for a Certified Accountant to join Universal Kraft group, a fast‑growing renewable‑energy company operating across Canada, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. The role will support the finance team in maintaining accurate records, preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations and expense reports.
• Prepare and review income statements, balance sheets and cash‑flow statements.
• Monitor financial data, identify trends and provide insights for business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation and internal procedures.
• Support tax return preparation, VAT filings and statutory reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to process financial transactions accurately and on time.
• Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors or regulatory bodies.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and contribute to the development of financial systems and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Proven experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in an international or fast‑paced environment.
• Registration with the Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC) is preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly organised, proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Primavera or Sage.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
