CCTV and Security Systems Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Rail Portugal is looking for a CCTV and Security Systems Engineer to join its Hitachi Rail GTS team in Paço de Arcos, Portugal. The role covers the full lifecycle of CCTV and security solutions, from specification and design to testing, installation, commissioning and support.

Key responsibilities

• Formalise specifications and engineering plans for the solution and assemble its elements so that design, behaviour, interactions and performance can be evaluated against system requirements.
• Demonstrate that the solution meets approved operational needs and is ready for production, testing, installation, operation and support.
• Plan and coordinate subsystem development within the agreed architecture and design constraints, and act as the project-wide technical interface for CCTV and security matters.
• Manage technical requirements in the domain, prepare and maintain technical documentation (design, configuration, installation and testing), and support the definition of operations and maintenance activities.
• Perform IVVQ activities, including system configuration, verification, validation and FAT tests, and support onsite installation.
• Carry out T&C activities such as system start-up, on-site configuration and acceptance testing, and support configuration control with the Configuration Manager.
• Prepare training documentation and give technical training when required, and contribute to continuous improvement through Lessons Learned.

Required profile

• Degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of previous experience in CCTV and security systems engineering and integration.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Fluency in English (mandatory); French preferred.
• Availability to travel and support onsite activities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CCTV, video management and security systems.
• Preferred: CAD and Visio, WAN/LAN networks, virtual machines and Active Directory, and Genetec systems.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and teamwork skills.
